Kiona Heath
Kiona is a Brooklyn raised community advocate and facilitator with over a decade of experience coordinating social justice initiatives in Vermont. Currently, Kiona serves as the Director of Trauma Informed Care, engaging equity driven and relationship rooted approaches to the creation of more effective and peaceful systems of care. Her work has included direct services to survivors of violence and exploitation, strategic direction for programs working to adopt intersectional and anti-oppressive policies and practices, and technical assistance and training on gender-based violence for a range of networks, agencies, and individuals. She believes that being attentive to the needs of others is the work of life and seeks to hold herself and her community compassionately accountable to that principle. Kiona is grateful to spend her time at work balancing the serious and focused task of addressing harm, with the levity and chaos of healing and transformation. When not working, she can be found sharing meals with loved ones, being humbly stymied by parenting, running around with her dog, swimming, quilting, and not getting enough sleep.
