Umbrella is a Womens resource center, serving our community for over two decades. We offer:
Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Programs:
- A 24-hour, 7-day hotline for crisis and emergencies
- A safe place to call and to talk
- Help in obtaining abuse prevention orders
- Legal and medical advocacy
- Assistance in finding temporary safe housing
- Information and referral to other helping resources
- Accompaniment to court hearings
- Support Groups
For children who have witnessed domestic violence, we can:
Assist families with parenting issues
Provide a safe environment to express feelings
Offer tools to cope with problems
Provide therapeutic playgroups and support groups
We also offer inservice training and educational presentations, such as:
Choosing quality child care
Teen dating violence
The effects of domestic violence on children
Gender equity
Child sexual safety
Sexual harassment
Umbrella is a member of the Vermont Network Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
