There are many ways to make a difference and help someone that is experiencing abuse. There are also many ways in which you can help prevent more violence from happining.
In the sub pages to the left are some ways you can help in specific areas of your life. You can also:

Volunteer at your local program- offer to do yard work at the shelter, or paint the kitchen. Take the volunteer training through your local program and help answer hotline calls. Help distribute materials and posters around your town. There are many ways to help- call and find out what you can offer.

Talk to your friends and family about sexual and domestic violence- our communities silence about the violence is very isolating for people who have or are experiencing it. Talking to people in your life about what you see and feel is a powerful tool for change. Talking is a great prevention tool. Talk to the children and young adults in your life about consent and respect. Talk to them about media's representation of women, and how that effects our thinking. Raise your voice against violence when you see it.
