STATEWIDE ADVOCACY OPPORTUNITY!

Public Hearing:

Vermont's Senate Judiciary Committee has made domestic violence their top priority for the 2007-2008 legislative session.  This fall they will be drafting an omnibus bill to address the issue of domestic violence in Vermont; the bill will be introduced and debated beginning in January of 2008.  The Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing about domestic violence on Wednesday, November 7th, in the late afternoon and early evening at the Statehouse in Montpelier (probably 4 to 7 PM).

It is vitally important that the committee hear the many, diverse voices of survivors and advocates throughout the state at this hearing.  We need to let the committee know about the myriad challenges facing survivors and those who advocate on their behalf.  Bring your stories of success and frustration - this is your chance to let legislators know what you would change about the state's response to domestic violence.
