People with visual disabilities will generally use public transportation, private transportation services such as taxis, or walk. Some people may have already created a network of transportation providers that suit their needs.
- When people with visual disabilities arrive at your facility, ask them if they need assistance with transportation. If they do, you may wish to ask them which types of transportation they are accustomed to, or would prefer to use, if possible.
- People who are unfamiliar with your city, town or neighborhood may need help in finding new transportation resources. They may also need assistance in reading or interpreting phone listings, transit maps, or transportation schedules.
